Advantages to staying at "Summerwind"

Villa renting has privacy, and everything you need belongs to you while staying at "Summerwind", music, snorkeling gear and food in the kitchen with a help yourself atmosphere.  You will only see the people you wish to see.  The staff will become "invisible" if that is what you desire, appearing only at those times you ask them to serve you, or while homemade Jamaican meals are being prepared.  You are welcomed to help if you wish, or enjoy watching and learning about Jamaican cuisine.  We can help with choices that are endless during your vacation.  Land travel can be arranged for you, rental cars, local taxi, and buses.  Remember the best part is that there are no lines, no reservations to be made, not worrying about missing a meal, and NO CROWDS.  The buttons to push for an elevator are gone.....

A typical grocery budget is US$300.00 per adult per week.  This may vary up or down depending on market prices and menus.  This does not pertain for children.  You may wish to go to various markets with your cook.  Simply review with her your food preferences and she will handle everything.  She will keep the house and suites cleaned.  Security will be staying at the villa on the second floor.

We will ask for an advance payment of US$300.00 which will be added to the villa rental to enable the cook to have the groceries and beverages stocked upon your arrival.  When the first groceries are finished, she will meet with you for your wishes.  You will need to pay for the cook to shop for you and receipts will be given to you for the taxi and shopping expenses.  Extra taxi trips to Ocho Rios are estimated at US$15.00 round trip.

Recommended gratuities tend to be around 10-15% of the villa rental.  These percentages apply to the entire staff, not to each individual staff member.  The customary tip is for good service, like most jobs int he service industry, tips are relied on as part of their overall compensation.  You can pay the entire amount to the head of the villa or directly to the owner for distribution.

Services Excluded:

• Air line tickets.
• Land travel while in Jamaica.
• Groceries, beverages, and taxi fare for sending cook to do the shopping.
• Excursions/ entrance fees.
• International telephone cost.
• Phone rental.
• Nanny/ babysitter.
• Guide/ driver

If services are requested, they are payable directly from the client to the person providing this service.

Hurricane Policy:  The hurricane season in Jamaica is considered from June to November.  We will do everything possible to help with either extending your vacation or rescheduling at another time.  We would encourage you to purchase trip cancellation insurance to protect your investment as "Summerwind" owners are not required to rebate rent.

Complaints and Maintenance:  No refund or rate adjustment shall be made for unforeseen mechanical failures such as the supply of electricity, water, cable service, appliance, etc.  Clients should bring attention to any problems to the cook.  The required staff to perform maintenance or repairs as necessary to enter your space will be made with every effort to accommodate your schedule.
